Disappointed Room is on Hulu

Watched Disappointment Room tonight on Hulu.

Thrill-less, unexceptional and unexciting. The movie left me exactly as promised, disappointed.

Watch if you need a good night asleep.

Stuck in an elevator

I was stuck on an elevator today for the longest 5-10 mins of my entire life.

You’d like to think you’ll be calm, collected and reasonable in these situations.....I was not.

After a few minutes of the elevator not moving or opening, I pushed the button inside to ring for help while trying to recall what happens at the end of that movie Devil where everyone is stuck in an elevator.

When a lady answered I was already in mid meltdown mode and began yelling “I need you to get me out of this elevator now!!”, while trying to claw the doors open. Unable to tell her where I was (other than my Grammys), she finally got my name. She was apologetic and very nice the entire time I was freaking out.

Thankfully my harrowing adventure came to its conclusion when the door popped open. Any longer and my tiny brain may have exploded.

Before I headed for the hills (or in this case the stairs) she wanted more information from me. I surprised myself by needing a full on minute to get my shit together. What a drama queen!

I may never ride an elevator again.

10 Year Reunion - Movie Review

I just finished watching 10 years. Yes i'm a year and a half late - but I wanna blog. So there's that.

The premise: a group very good looking people on their late 20's get together for their 10th year high school reunion.

The 1st problem is (other than the obvious good looks and healthy weight of all involved, including the picked-on "nerd", you know perhaps I should make this the 1st problem, crap I'm already digressing).

Anyway, my 1st inclination to put this movie in the Fantasy category was the fact that everyone was actually excited for this10 year reunion, to the extent that some even flew in...because airline tickets are cheap....yeah.

To add to the fantasy: There's an indie rock star, the sexiest man alive, adorable nerds, a guy who was an asshole to the adorable nerd who wants to repent and of course conversation that rarely involves awkwardness, despite the 10 year gap since last they all last converged.

Through the absurdity of it all I whole heatedly loved this movie. I mean like, adored it. I mean like, if there was a Blockbuster video store I would totally buy a previewed copy at a discounted rate.

There were some wonderfully told stories that I cant imagine everyone wishing were true and completely theirs. Perhaps since I just went to my 20th reunion I find this movie so fantastical and decedent. I really wasn't close to anyone in High School and I haven't followed up on what everyone (or anyone for that matter) has become....but wouldn't it be the it be great to show up and find that despite my lack of connecting, a sensitive and sexy rock star I went to school with wrote a #1 hit song about me and my funny shoes? *le sigh*

That scenario is completely up there with chocolate molten lava cake decadence.

I  give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars, but only based on the fact that it's Sci-Fi - Fantasy.

Reviews > A Perfect Blood

A Perfect BloodA Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another incredibly satisfying Rachel Morgan story. I still don't understand why Rachel is treated like a drooling 3 year old leper, but I do like the way she handles it these days. I'm still looking forward to her realizing she smarter and stronger than the lot of them, but its been fun to see her progress this way.

I thought that the mysterious Vampire Felix was just a ton of fun and hope to see more of him. Her werewolf body guard Wade on the other hand was an annoying broken record with dangerous tendencies and I cant figure out for the life of me why she hasn't fired him yet. I would have tossed him out on his ear a week in. I missed Al, his character might be the most interesting to me. I look forward to seeing more of him in the next installment. Lastly, I like the fact that Trent becomes more accessible to Rachel with each book - will they finally get together with the next one? I'm hoping!

All in all nother great book in the Rachel Morgan series!

Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1)Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I didn't love this - a lot of slang from nearly everyone but the main character, which I thought was strange. I think the story was good and I could see the point behind the slang, but I didn't think it was necessary and for my part, it took away from the entire read. I probably wont continue on this series.

Reviews > Black Magic Sanction

Black Magic Sanction (The Hollows, #8)Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My favorite book from this Series to date. Finally, we see Rachel becoming less of a whining punching bag. Throughout this Series we see her life deftly change and become altered by her simply allowing people to believe untruths about her and the things that she has, or in many cases, has not done. We see her accept & pay the outlandish prices for everyone's crap - all the while whining that she's a good person. It makes no sense.

Finally, it appears this self-deprecating and destructive path that she's on might be reaching an end, or at least it wont be as cringe worthy. I, for one sincerely hope she becomes the strong and confident heroine we all know she can be.

I cant wait to read the next book!
